Construction Progress

I didn’t have much to write about this week, so I thought I’d just share some updates and photos of our construction project.

The rain last week held up our plumbing work, but the plumbers were busy at it this week. I expect that the floor plumbing should be completed by the end of this week. Hopefully, we will be able to pour the concrete floor for the interior and rear addition next week.

We also started framing up portions of the building where we didn’t have to disturb the concrete floor for plumbing. I was surprised at how fast the framing went up. This makes me very hopeful that things will start progressing much more quickly after we get the floor plumbing completed and concrete poured.

The windows arrived today and where set in place, but they still need to be adjusted and permanently fastened to the building. I’m hoping the doors will be coming soon. I think it will start to look more like a real building once the doors are on…and, oh yeah, a roof would help also.

Original ceiling and truss. (The original ceiling will be exposed throughout much of the building. This is the feature of the building we fell in love with.)
