Featured Meat Preparations
We had the honor of getting to talk about and show a couple of our favorite meat preparations at the Iowa State Fair. We hope that our demo was interesting and educational. If you’re ready to try them for yourself, you can find the marinades and cooking recommendations below. Enjoy!
Greek Marinated Pork Souvlaki
For every 2 pounds of Pork Cubes Mix together:
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
5 tsp Finely Diced Onion
1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
3 tsp Salt
2 tsp Minced Garlic
1 tsp Pepper
3 tsp Dried Oregano
1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flake
Marinate for 2-24 hours before Skewering for the grill or pan fry until an internal temperature of 145 degrees is achieved. Serve with Tzatziki Sauce and Pita Bread
Mongolian Marinated Beef
For every 2 Pounds of Beef Combine:
1/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
1/2 Cup of Chopped Green Onions
5 tsp Minced Garlic
3 tsp Brown Sugar
3 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
3 tsp Grated Fresh Ginger
Combine all ingredients and Marinate the Beef for at least 12 hours and up to two days. When ready to cook either grill or pan fry to your desired doneness. This works well with a side of rice and grilled vegetables or as the topping of a steak salad.
