Bratwurst! Not Just For The Grill.
Almost everyone is familiar with bratwurst and many associate it with grilling season. However, there are many other ways to prepare this German fare. At Old Station Craft Meats we typically carry four varieties of bratwurst; original, beer, green onion and a rotational flavor. The rotational flavor this week is the bacon cheddar beer brat. Follow the links below to several non-grilling, bratwurst recipe favorites of our staff:
Roasted Brussels, Brats & Sweet Potatoes. This savory veggie mix is great for a cold winter evening. Sara says this is an easy recipe to make for her family on a week night. Try topping it with a bit of Killer Hogs AP Seasoning (we have that too!). https://thrivinghomeblog.com/one-sheet-roasted-brussels-brats-sweet-potatoes/
Sheet Pan Sausage and Fall Vegetables. This great recipe uses the the natural juices from the bratwurst to season the cabbage and fingerling potatoes. Nick loves the way that the garlic and sage in this recipe makes the whole house smell great! Sheet Pan Sausage and Fall Vegetables | Midwest Living
Sheet-Pan Sausages and Mushrooms with Arugula and Croutons. A great recipe for mushroom lovers! This recipe calls for sweet or hot Italian sausage, but our butcher Calvin prefers the bacon cheddar brat for this recipe.
